À propos de Less is More Projects

Less is More Projects est un bureau, une future vitrine d’exposition, un “cabinet-vitrine”, un “artist-run space”, un site web voué à l’art contemporain et à la diffusion d’oeuvres d’artistes. Pour l’instant, juste un bureau et un site web à partir duquel nous développons nos différents projets. Son approche expérimentale est née d’un questionnement sur le processus actuel de présentation et consommation de l’art contemporain.

Quand peu devient beaucoup? Dans notre société contemporaine, il est particulièrement difficile de répondre à cette question, notre culture privilégiant la quantité à la qualité. La notion que “simplicité et clarté conduisent à un bon projet”, a été élaborée après la première guerre mondiale, par l’architecte Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, qui pensait que, vivant avec et dans peu augmentait la qualité de notre vie.

Initié par Alberto Brusamolino et Michel Boubon, “Less is More Projects” fonctionne comme un site web, une forme d’intervention et un futur espace de programmation contemporaine: une vitrine permanente, rien de plus qu’une porte-vitrine à Paris ou ailleurs à travers laquelle les visiteurs pourront regarder les trois mètres carrés, lieu de l’exposition.

Le programme de Less is More Projects s’adresse autant à un public spécialisé qu’à un public plus large, de curieux. Cependant il restera improvisé et ouvert au questionnement. Parfois dérangeantes, les expositions proposées affirmeront la touche personnelle des deux fondateurs du projet, leur passion pour l’art.

Le projet inclut Less is More Editions, une série de multiples et de tirages en édition limitée produits par les artistes invités, qui seront visibles en ligne .

Less is More Projects est une association indépendante à but non lucratif soutenue par ses membres. Sa programmation est assurée par le deux initiateurs du projet, avec l’estimable collaboration d’un esprit critique aussi artiste et ami de longue date, Paolo Giardi et diverses personnalités invitées.

About Less is More Projects

Less is More Projects is a curatorial project office, a future looking glass door, a ‘cabinet-vitrine’, an artist-run space, a website focused on the presentation and promotion of contemporary art. Just, for the moment, an office and a website from which we develop ours differents projects. Its experimental approach stems from an ongoing enquiry into the phenomenon of art presentation and consumption.

When does Less become More? In contemporary society, this question may be especially difficult to answer for a culture that often values quantity over quality. The notion that simplicity and clarity lead to good design was articulated after World War I, by the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, who believed that living with and within less enhanced one’s quality of life.

Initiated by Alberto Brusamolino and Michel Boubon, Less is More Projects functions as a website, a form of intervention and a future exhibition space for contemporary art; nothing more than a future looking glass door in Paris or elsewhere. Viewers will peer throught it into three square meters of floor space where the exhibition will run.

Less is More Projects’ programme is intended to appeal both to a specialist audience and a broader, curious public. However, its programme will remain improvisatory and open to question.

The project include the Less is More Editions - a series of multiples and limited edition prints produced by exhibited or invited artists - available from the website.

Less is More Projects is a non-profit and independent organisation supported by its members. Its programme is assured by founding members with the worthy collaboration of an old friend, artist and shadow consultant, Paolo Giardi, as well as others guest collaborators.
